Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Th only thing that puts me off is that it takes 4 X AA batteries, what rechargables would be the best to use?

Thanks for the help again :)

Why does the 4xAA put you off?

Take it abroad and the batteries run out - you can get them everywhere.

In my S9500 I use assorted sets that range from 2300mah to 2700mah. Using the 2300mah ones, you can full up a 4gb card with ease without changing the batteries. That is in RAW though. I recon you could probably get ~4-500 shots using jpg on a single set of batteries

Have you been to a shop and held one yet? They're not particularly small cameras.

The S5600 is a mighty fine camera for the money.

Pretty good pics at low iso, but once you start hitting iso 200 and above the images do start to get noisy. As long as you bear that in mind you can get some nice images from it.

A nice long zoom on the camera, a little lacking in the wide end though. Pics can be a little soft at full zoom (watch the shutter speed if you try hand holding at 380mm).

You might find you end up using it as a stepping stone to a DSLR though! ;)

I'd recommend buying a decent set of batteries, I bought the uniross sprint charger, which came with a set of 4x2300mAh batteries, will fully recharge in 15 mins, but it cost £40. I had the s5500 a while back, the model one down from the s5600, and had no problems whatsoever with them.

There is also a uniross 1hr charger with 2700mAh batteries included for £30. You might be able to find them cheaper if yo look around, but I've found uniross is a pretty good brand, and would definately recommend them.

Thanks guys that is exactly the input I was looking for :)

So where would you good people say is the best place to get one of these bad boys? anywhere that does some nice freebies thrown in? like a camera bag or tripod or something?

think you have got less than no chance of getting any freebies thrown in, the best price seems to be £112 (it was 299)

and that is from a popular high street shop that has its hand in everythign from toys to furniture, via computers and music systems lol

Ok was --> <-- this close to buying the fuji.

Then someone drew my attention to the Sony DSCH2 6MP

Which seems to be the mutts nuts.

Anyone have any experience with this Camera? The reviews I have have been very 50/50

A Lot said it is the best camera they have used, one professional photographer said he likes it almost the same as his best DSLR (however I am under no illusions that this will be a DSLR :) )

then others have said they hated it and it's pictures were nasty.

So anyone know much about this camera?
