Slow PC - More ram + more hard drive?

Hi all

My PC seems quite slow at the moment.
I think I need to get some more Ram and Hard drive space for my gaming pc

Look at the pictures below

well u only have 600 mb left on the harddisk, so clean it up or get a new drive
2gb ram is fine, but its two differentr chips? thats not the best idea...

best thing to do, is backup the data u want to keep and reinstall windows!

Would it be possible for someone to find what im after (hard drive) on ebay?

As I only have money in my paypal to buy it

would that be ok?

No that would be against the rules but any samsung spinpoint F1 will do you well its just 320Gb if the smallest and cheapest but theres loads of F1's on there all the time.

2GB RAM is fine for an XP system. Your problem is disk space as already mentioned. How do you think your system is going to fine free contigious space with a nearly full drive?

Remove unwated applications, games and files etc

Use ccleaner to remove any cache rubbish

Remove unwanted startup program (use ccleaner again)

Ran a defrag

See how that goes. If you aim to free up at least half the disk space, then the exercise has saved you the cost of a new HDD.

Yeah, but he's running mismatched RAM sticks at the moment, so I thought it'd be easier if he just upgraded to a new set of 4GB, giving some futureproofing.

Would make very like difference tbh as both modules run at the same frequency. Differences in latencies will be adjusted according to which one's the slowest.

The problem here is the disks are thrashing like mad causing a serious bottleneck.
