more RAM vs faster RAM?

Hi all,

Is there any benefit to having more RAM (i.e. 16 or 32gb 1333mhz) compared to faster RAM (8gb 2400mhz)?

This is strictly for a gaming machine which is probably not hitting 8gb usage.

If the only benefit is file caching hard disk in memory, is this still worthwhile on SSDs?

So, I have both already. This is really more of a case of what makes sense to be installed where.

I have several machines. But I can swap any of that RAM into my gaming machine. It currently has the 2400mhz kit.
