More Ram vs Higher speed which to get.

Im looking at DDR4 for my next upgrade but I dont know if its better to get more ram or better speed.

What im comparing is 16gb (2x 8gb) of 3000Mhz vs 32GB (2x 16gb) 2,133 MHz difference of £40

What's the intended use? The 16gb kit is ample for gaming, doing anything else?

What's the current use of your PC? As stated, 16GB is more than enough for gaming. However, production apps like Adobe CC etc can benefit from more RAM if dealing with more complex models/designs/video work.

What's your current setup? You sig states FX 8320 [email protected] and Sabertooth 990fx. This supports DDR3 only.

Gaming basic editing and general use, Im looking to upgrade to ryzen so I will need new ram, just looking at my options and get some info before I buy to get the best value.

The gist of it is that Ryzen has a DFI bottleneck under 3200MHz memclk. To ensure best performance, get the memclk to at least 3200MHz and tune the RAM timings (we can help with that when the time comes). 3200MHz - 3466MHz is the sweet spot for Ryzen.

I'm trying to get good value for money also. the linked model maybe out for that reason.

For ryzen best to pay a little extra for what works memory wise.
