More Recent "Myst"-like Games?

Hey guys

I'm old school - although i enjoy playing fps games every once in a while (mainly on PS3), i'm kind of looking for a game that ill really get immersed in - something graphically pleasing with a big environment i can really get lost in

I remember playing MYST some 12 years ago and loving it - back then, the graphics were just top notch, there was a great story line, and PLENTY of places to explore

are there currently any games that are similar to myst? something with great graphics minus the "run'n'gun" aspect? something that will really make you use your head

Be it PC or PS3 based

I played through the Myst series way back too and like you, enjoyed using mine and the missus's noggins to solve them. The story and atmosphere were fantastic and I'd love to try something similar these days...

Tales of Monkey Island is a good adventure game with the typical adventure puzzles i.e steal everyones **** and rub it on everything until something happens

Machinarium, but it's hard and not very explorable.

as someone already said they are called "adventure games" even the older ones from 6+ years ago should still look pretty as generally they use 2d backgrounds that age well.

Another one I remember was Riven and also Douglas Adam's Starship Titanic.
