More Sata ports needed...

How can I add SATA ports to my mobo - is there any way to do it ?
I want to run a couple of DVD drives and maybe as many as 8 hard drives, and my mobo only has 8 ports - is there any sort of card that allows me more ?

yeah, but they all seem to be RAID controllers as well, meaning they are pricy..!

(or have I been a fool and missed them - my internet is very very slow today - currently getting about 12kb/sec at best..)

I'd probably get the cheapest PCI-E SATAII card I could find. I'm probably only a couple of years off from filling my motherboard and it has 10 slots!

My colleague has 2 4 port Adaptec PCIE cards to fulfill his storage requirements.

I'll take a look Gav - not sure google is ever my friend, as it makes me poorer all too often..
