More space and better cooling

Ok, so I have a lovely Black Lian-Li PC-7 Plus II and it really is a great case, but there isn't the internal space that I'd like. I have three HDDs in my HDD rack, and they get warm, so the front fan is just filling my case with warm air, and the rear fan isn't brilliant, but is ok.

My graphics card appears to be warming up (sometimes I can hear it, never used to), it's an X1950XT.

I have 3, sometimes 4 of the 5.25" bays full, an Akasa All-In-One unit, a Creative breakout box and DVD drives (one at the moment, but often two).

Basically I'm after something that looks good, has more usable space (HDD racks, 5.25" bays, etc.), and is also well cooled by only a couple of 120mm fans.

By looks good I mean ideally something LianLi, maybe with a door this time, to cover up the full bays. I know LianLi have a lot of new cases, but they aren't out yet on OcUK, and I haven't looked anywhere else, but I'm after what people have used or think to be a good case. Budget would be something along the lines for up to £150.

I'm not 100% definitely going to get a new case, but I do have the option to get one.

Ive got the coolermaster cosmos, loads of space and plenty of cooling inside, only problems with it are the weight and size, its an absolute monster, so if you are not taking it anywhere then its worth a look :) i currently have 3 hdd's in mine but i think u can fit 8 in total :O

Ewww, I ordered one yesterday and I just read this :( Also, I will have having a monster card. But I only have 1 HDD, you got me thinking.

I'm not all that fond of CM cases, whilst the mounting and gear that it comes with is quite impressive, it's just not me. In all honesty, I'd be happy with a black aluminium box with a door. :p

I take it you mean the PC7.

It is a great case, don't get me wrong, I love it, and don't want to sell it, but I just feel like a change (had it a year - which is a while for me really), I want to cover up my drive bays etc. as currently they are on show, and whilst when I bought the case I didn't like doors, my friend has the V2100Plus and it's so, so nice, with a door.

it's a very good case, all he's saying is that there isn't enough room for all the stuff he has, he has too much in the case thus restricting airflow and increasing temps a bit. don't worrry man

Yup. :)

When I had 2 HDDs it was much better.

What's annoying is I can see some viable options on the LL site, but then I can't actually get them from here. :(

I'm starting to feel the same about the PC7 that I've got also now, with 3 hard drives in there it's starting to get a bit cramped, tempted to go back to my Chieftec Dragon, but not sure I can face the noise that 80mm fans make.

I said a while ago the PC Plus 7 is too cramped, jumped on by yemen I think.
Looks like what I said is now confimed by others. You could fit a Scythe Kama Bay in the 5.25 bay but the heat will just be pushed onto the side wall of the PSU.

Always buy a full tower if you're building a PC, if you're a "power user"

I thought I'd browse the LL site, and found this case. I then thought "oh that shouldn't be too expensive, and it ticks all the boxes". I then came onto OcUK...£175 :(
Was looking at £150 being like max if I have to spend it.

This is more in budget, and has a door, but seems to be basically be the same as the PC7, but with a door.

:(

It is a great case, and it is spacious, for my original uses it was fine, but I'm kind of bored of it now.
I would still recommend this case to people doing new builds, as it is a great case.

i just got a lain li v2000b+ and its huge and cooled well. if you couple it with a 3x 120mm deltas and 2x 80mm deltas then it should eliminate the gpu noise issue and keep your components nice and cool
