Hi All,

Not a very pleasant subject but one that needs covering, the Inquiry into the reports of historic (and current) paedophile gangs in Telford by Tom Crowther QC has released its report and it makes for absolutely damning reading with both the Police and Council actively avoiding investigating these claims for fear of "inflame racial tensions" as the offenders were almost universally Asian men of Pakistani descent.

The main points were these-

  • Over 1,000 girls abused over the span of 40 years.
  • The Victims were blamed for allowing the abuse by the Police and Council.
  • The lack of investigation emboldened the paedophiles to continue the abuse.
  • The Council scaled back their "Child Sexual Exploitation" teams to virtually zero.
  • The Police apologised "Sorry to the survivors and all those affected by child sexual exploitation in Telford. While there were no findings of corruption, our actions fell far short of the help and protection you should have had from us, it was unacceptable, we let you down"

What we need is better/more funded and trained police and social services along with better housing and schools.

All of which means nothing if the political will to enforce the Law equally doesn't exist.

That is where the system failed, not due to lack of funds or lack of police numbers/training or even lack of awareness - the system failed because one or more person in a position of power (don't know who yet) told the Police at the top level "DO NOT INVESTIGATE THIS FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON......" and the reason the Inquiry gave for that order was to avoid "Inflaming Racial Tensions" - Thats the reason this was allowed to happen, it was a political decision and without that being stamped out and the people involved in giving & carrying out that order jailed (whoever they are), NOTHING will change.

It was probably more a tactical decision by the police but a political one by some of those in authority positions but not because of the reason you lot think.

Seen as I'm continually directly quoting Tom Crowther QC, who interviewed the victims, the council, the Police and various Government members (something YOU haven't done) before writing his report where he specifically said the decision was made to prevent "Inflaming Racial Tensions" I'd say that it is YOU who, yet again, either does not have the mental capacity to understand simple, plain English or, and I find this far more likely, it is YOU who is continually deliberately lying about "the reason" for some reason.

So which is it Tony, unintelligent or a liar, it can only be either one of those two?
