As far as i know a vlan only allows pcs to communicate on the ports you set on the vlan, can you have a vlan also connect to your internet gateway, i am sure you could on a cisco switch but how about a home grade switch...?
So if you had 6 pcs on a switch, and the switch to router, and put say pc 1 & pc 2 on vlan8 for ex, so my understanding is that pc 1 & pc 2 can only talk to each other and no other route outside vlan8 but as i said can you also have them connect to the internet?
