Hi,
So I recently abandoned Apple, selling my iPhone and MacBook Pro. I got myself last years Dell XPS 15 as a replacement as it seemed to tick my boxes to the most satisfactory standard -- one of those boxes being a good trackpad experience. I have been an Apple guy for 10 years and could count on 1 hand the number of hours I had spent using Windows laptops and their trackpads, but every one of those hours was horrendous compared to how Apple implement their trackpads.
Overall I am satisfied with the Dell trackpad. It is not as sensitive and smooth as a Macbook, but I have gotten used to it better than I thought I would (tip for anyone with the Dell XPS 15 9560 --- buy yourself a screen protector that has a matte/satin finish, cut it to the size of the trackpad and enjoy a much smoother feel -- very close to the feel of Apple's glass trackpads).
Anyway - one thing I would really love that was possible by using a 3rd party program called BetterTouchTool on macOS was the ability to customise gestures per application. The options were endless (e.g. I liked to have next/previous tabs bound to the rotate gestures in web browsers).
The Windows precision drivers does offer a few extra gestures, but they're very limited and cannot be set per-application. Does anyone know of any software that offers this functionality? I have had a good look and am still looking but not found anything yet.
Thank you.
