More trigonometric identities---MATHS HELP

Am i right in thinking

cotθ = cosecθ / secθ

and

cosec^2θ + sec^2θ = 1

I just thought it would work because

1/sin^2θ = cosec^2θ etc etc

1/sin^2θ + 1/cos^2θ = 1/1 obviously you can't do that though.
