More Uni Spec

About to start Uni doing Architecture (so lots of autocad use etc).
I recieved some paperwork the other day detailing what my PC spec should be.
They recommend 2GB Or More of Ram, do I need this? It seems quite a lot? Especially as to fit more than 2GB i would have to replace my curent 1GB(2x512) with sticks at 1GB each which would be fairly expensive?
 
Thanks guys that sounds like a good idea. I was wondering as I dont have much trouble running autocad at the moment although it would obviously benefit from more ram but if I dont need it i wont buy it.

They suggest an A3 printer too! :rolleyes:
