More Voltage!?!

I've just managed to get this monsterous speed out of my 4200+ and I just know it'd go more with a bit more voltage as my Asus A8N is only letting me put 1.45v through it.

Does anyone know of somewhere I can get a BIOS with the option for higher voltages?

Temps are 36C idle and 45C Prime Loaded so I've still got some room for improvement.

Thanks

What kind of cooler are you using?
I wouldnt want to put much more V's through it.
Have you tried lowering the HTT Multipler to about 3x for a higher clock?

It's water cooled at the moment, and I've got a pelt on standby if the temps get too much.

The HTT is at 3x at the moment, I've had it at 3ghz (275x11) but it wasn't stable enough to load windows, but I'm sure I can manage to at least get a screenshot with a lil bit more voltage :D

Oh ok coolings no issue. I'd put a max of 1.55-1.6.
But to do that your going to need a modified BIOS.
Have a look, im not sure if theyve made one but a quick google will tell.

well the manual says that the cpu voltage should go up to 1.65v, but I don't know which BIOS that is and Asus' update program won't let me flash an older BIOS

Any thoughts on what to do?

can you not d/l an old bios from the site and then flash it in dos??
are you running the latest bios ?

Yes I'm running the latest bios, but I haven't got a clue how I'd flash in dos, and if it requires the use of a floppy drive then I'm buggered :(

Good luck in finding one. I believe the 1004 BIOS allowed 1.65v but I had to update to the new Beta BIOS due to RAM issues whcih have been fixed. Your best bet would be to google for BIOS mods. Sideeffect did some for the MSI NEO 2 Platinum there might be someone around who does it for the ASUS Premium.

You will be able to stick 1.6v throuh it on water no problems. I use 1.5v on air for the chip in sig. Max lod is only 55c.
