hi

i know the basics, in that i need to check http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-00-3-xbox360_compatibility_guide-49-en.html to see if a game is compatible for a uk xbox, but i have a few questions that i dont seem to be able to find previously answered.

1) if the game is region free and sounds good to go, how does it work on live? will i end up playing on an asia server or will the game function just like the uk version for live purposes?

2) if there is an update for the game delivered via live, will this be applied ok?

3) or to summarise: if there is a tick against pal on the compatibility list and the language is english (or multi) are there any other considerations (even trivial ones) to be taken into account? or will the game function 100% the same as domestic uk version?

many thanks

It works exactly as a game would if you bought it from here, theres no difference.

hellfire that was quick!

think ill get myself a call of duty 3 at ~£23.79 and hopefully a gears of war at ~£21.14 subject to their test results

many thanks

half price games for me from now on (or 2 games bought when i would normally buy only one :p )

p.s. do you order games on seperate orders to reduce the chance of being nabbed by cutoms?

Being region free just means itll work in the 360 despites its region, the game itself will work the same way, same games that are region encoded only play in their region specific consoles.

So if its region free its all good baby

So whats the difference between a asia verson of gears of was a us verson of gears of war and a uk copy

Its just that the asia copy is cheeper on PLAY ASIA then the us ?? doesnt make sense to me if there both region free

Well I'd imagine the asian version may well be in a foreign language (or have English + foreign language options), while the american will of course be purely in English.

thanks baine,

the play asia compatabilty list for gears of wars asia has now changed from "question mark" to "no entry"

i hate contradictory information. should i take the play asia results (no) or the xbox-sky results (yes)

I would definitely be going with what play-asia say, after all, they are the ones selling them.

i would have to agree. i have sent play-asia an email politely asking for verification / clarification. ill let you know if i get a reply

Because they have to import the US ones and resell them, the asian ones are cheaper to buy initially.

Woh, that looks like a great site, I have only had my XBOX360 for a month now with 4 games.

I think I'll be giving them a try! :D

this is the reply i got back from play asia:

Hi Crag,

thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

The Asian version supports NTSC-J only.

In case of any further question please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best regards,

Tony
