**Morrowind Game Of The Year**

Just bought the GOTY edition for £3.50 and after opening the box and reading the manual and being overwhelmed at how big the map is, im really excited at getting stuck into it. Ive installed the game along with Tribunal and Bloodmoon and downloaded all the official plugins, im ready to rock.

I've so far made my character a Male Nord Warrior, gotten off the slave boat. Found a ring and gave it back to its owner. Gone to a trader blown all money on double handed sword then spoke to a unhappy bloke who needs 100G, and now im looking into a cave, hoping to find enough money for him, and a trip to Balimore on a Strider. All of this happened within 10 minutes of play, this has got to be one of the top rpgs around, i cant wait to get back to it:D

Personally im already enjoying this more than my 30 hours of playtime on Oblivion. I can see this being better than Oblivion and it just proves graphics aint everything. Saying that though Morrowinds graphics are pretty good and im sure they were amazing when the game first came out.
From what i heard the levelling up system is better than Oblivions, as you actually fight enemies who could be lower or higher levels than you, instead of Oblivions approach.

Any who, great game and ill keep you all posted on my many adventures in Morrowind:D

Been getting back into this myself, having never finished the main quest and never ventured to Solstheim before. Made an Imperial Ranger (custom class), concentrating on ranged combat and stealth. Never could get into stealth very much in Morrowind, certainly not as much as Oblivion (which in turn is nowhere near as good as any proper stealth game such as Thief), but am enjoying it nonetheless.
 
~Update~

After goining into the cave and freeing three slaves and killing some enemies and pinching there loot. I went to the trader to sell it all, but had to chuck some illegal stuff away before i could sell my stuff:p Anyway i made nearly 200G which was more than enough for the bloke i spoke to who needed 100G. After that i went on my way to Balimora deciding to walk there instead of taking the strider. Im nearly halfway there when i came across a strange monster drinking down by a stream, he aint hostile (unlike thoes slug things) so i let him be. And now ive come across another town (pelagiad i think) im gonna take a look, see what i can get upto.

Anywho some questions:
How do you block?
What happens if i rest, when its illegal if not in a bed?
And have i nearly finished the game?

Obvisouly kidding about the last question:p
 
~Update 2~

Well after not finding not much to do in pelagaid apart from joining "The Legion" which i decided against. I slept at the tavern and went off into the night to carry on my adventures to Balimora ( i think im spelling it differently every time :p ) anyway after getting hurt along the way. I decided to sleep the injuries off only to be awaken by an Assassin:eek: After killing him and taking his belongings (should fetch me a nice sum) i went to sleep again to heal. Only for the same thing to happen again, i killed the Assassin by the skin of my teeth and took his belongings too. Im just over halfway to Balimora with 2hp left no potions and im afraid to go to sleep incase of another Assassin. Ill make it fingers crossed and hopefully wont get into any fights until im healed and spent all my money on some nice kit:D

IIRC, they only attack you when you sleep in a bed. you can sleep outside etc, but it has to be outside a town really where you cant be spotted by guards (but you can still be attacked and woken by wildlife)

Keep the dark brotherhood armour, im sure it'll prob be better than what you have now at the lower levels.

oh, and before i forget- DAMN YOU!!!! ive now got a mega urge to install this again ;)
 
Did you get the easter egg just outside Seyda Neen with the mage who had a disagreement with mavity?
 
~Update 3~
I finally got to Balimora (alive:p) i sold all my loot and got lots of gold and spent it all on armour:)
During my time in Balimora i joined the "Fighters Guild" and already finished a quest by disposing some rats. Next quest is to stop some egg poachers (im glad theres no cheesy quest's) i also met the bloke who i had to meet (main quest) and he's given me a quest. So ive got a handful of quest, about 200G im full plated in steel armour (20 armour rating each) and an average two handed sword (my next purchase will have to be a better sword).

Im really enjoying this game and if you havent played it yet i suggest you get it. Ive just remembered something, ive got to get my revenge on a big nord whos got an equally big mallet:mad::p
 
Please note that unlike in Oblivion, you cannot join all factions, and also that each faction has requirements for advancement in terms of stats. This means that you should choose factions to join with care.


Yes, better game than Oblivion, but easier to exploit as well: the alchemy money pump is ridiculously overpowered for instance.
