what id like to know is whether the promo costumes and fatalities will be available to unlock in the game or whether you have to buy them seperately.

Anyway Amazon looks best to me from that, 2 fatalities and 3 costumes. Human reptile looks cooler than the standard version in the game :)

That's my predicament at the moment.

I've been literally hovering over the Amazon pre-order, but just don't know whether they're in-game unlockables (like with "koins" in the more recent versions) or paid DLC upon release... and if they're paid, whether it'll actually be cheaper to buy the DLC than pay the difference in ordering the standard edition via Shopto.

Cheers. Amazon looks like they have the bonuses I would be most interested in, although the game is at least £5 dearer than Shopto. I wonder if I just buy the cheapest addition and just buy the fatalities as DLC (assuming they will cost less than the price difference of the basic game and come out reasonably soon).

For Play, it seems like the rental is via zune (xbox) and is only for 360, so probably the weakest pre-order place imo. I am sure most people would prefer a usable in game bonus as opposed to an SD video on demand rental of a 15 year old movie!

I'm not sure whether they're in-game unlocks or DLC fellas to be honest but with the way they're promoting these offers it looks to me like it will be DLC. I'm just getting the Ermac retro costume but I've got the KE so I'm getting plenty of other goodies :)
 
All the pre-order stuff can be unlocked in the Kyrpt, the company making the game said they didnt want people to buy the game 5x over for different stuff
 
Yeah. I must admit I cancelled my Kollectors Edition Pre-Order and re-ordered the Standard Edition with ShopTo as the price is now only £29.99 - an absolute bargain for a brand new release. The £20 I've saved can now go towards my next game or piece of gaming hardware/accessory. I just hope the Dlc will be available separately (as long as it doesn't cost too much) as I would like the alternate Ninja Costume for Ermac (although I'm sure it will be as obviously it would generate additional income).

Thanks for the info. If thats true I wouldn't bother entering the Dlc codes even if I did have them as I like to unlock stuff thats already on the disc by playing the game and earning it.

Not long to go at all now. I'm hoping my copy will arrive on Thursday. Fingers crossed...

It's not true, theres no way to know for sure at the moment. Anything else is a rumour.. but it shouldn't be long now before we know one way or another.

is everyone getting this on ps3? since the extra character is only on the ps3?
 
I'm getting it for PS3. I hope it comes on thursday, I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't. I'm 2 out of 3 with GAME for release day deliveries.

Hi. Thats confirming alternative outfits in the Krypt not the classic ones. No one knows about the classic ones but it would be strange with Ermacs been exclusive to the Kollectors Edition amongst over things :).
 
Went with Shopto for the preorder. Looks pretty much confirmed that the classic fatalities (which is all I'm after!) from the Amazon order are Krypt unlockables if you just play the game.

Hell, I'm buying it, so I don't mind doing that!
 
Might be best not pre-ordering just yet. Ed said the 360 would have something exclusive for the 360 fans "that would make them happy" yet he couldn't talk about it due to the deal with Sony. He's also said theres some pretty big reveals to announce still before release. Also the 360 version is meant to have an embargo on some details. With this in mind heres the latest rumor for the 360's content;

Xbox 360 Mortal Kombat fans were disappointed when it was announced that PS3 owners would get Kratos as an exclusive character while they got nothing. Rumors have now surfaced that Xbox 360 fans won't be left out in the cold when it comes to exclusives.

None of this has been confirmed yet by developer NetherRealms Studios, but it would be surprising if the PS3 got something and the Xbox 360 didn't.

* Exclusive Mode: Puzzle Kombat – Features online play, leaderboards, and avatar support
* Exclusive Arena: The Pit 360 – A remake of The Pit III from MK 3
* King of the Hill mode will include avatar support

Hector Sanchez has already confirmed via Twitter that The Pit 360 and Puzzle Kombat rumours are a load of pants, the other things mentioned here are still up for discussion.

He could be playing a pr game, I wouldn't rule it out completely myself.
