Hi all,

Hopefully there

are some mortgage experts here!

I am currently in the process of applying for a mortgage, we had a successful valuation and the lady at the bank said she would get on to ordering offer documents and get them out to us as soon as she gets them. This was a week ago and still not had them but I have noticed they ran another hard search credit check on me two days ago? Anybody have any thoughts on this, I assumed because she said she was ordering offer letter we were home and dry but this new credit check is making me think otherwise.

Funny story, I was working today looking at a mortgage application, valuation was back and fine, system glitched and didn't search properly, so I had to do a manual search, tons of adverse credit need to decline that application.

Couldn't be bothered today, will leave it till Monday, feel sorry for the poor sod though he was told he would get his offer out soon.
 
I'm not sure you'll get a straight answer here, best bet would be to sign up to a specialist bbq forum.

When did you actually start the application? It’s possible the lender has tightened up their criteria given the recent madness and wanted another credit check done before issuing the offer.
