Any one live in an area where you get bitten by these horid things!!

What do you use to keep them away or cut down the amount of times your bit.

im tempted to buy some of these plants, like catnip ect but unsure how well they work.

Anyone used them, got ideas?

There's a fair bunch of small plug in things that go in the wall and release an odour they dislike. Some pretty strong smelling ones too for burning outdoors. Doesn't stop them completely but it saves getting chewed to bits every night.

My lady lives in Greece and it was proper ****ty when we visited the islands over the summer. The plug in's and "snakes" (as they are called there, look like 2 coiled snakes, u use the hole where the snakes eye would be to sit the flat coil on a wee stand so it burns freely) saved us a lot of the bother.

Keep exposed lights to a minimum too, like most flying pests they tend to flock to them. Covering yourself wont help either, they can penetrate leather with the needle/sucker.

Had my ladies aunt give me a patch to wear (like a nicotine patch) that seemed to do the job too.

The next best thing - get a good tan and sleep with someone with lighter skin than u :D My ladies a little darker and I was getting eaten alive at the start, with a bit of a tan + the various things above we both got maybe 1 bite at most overnight.

Mosquito nets on windows are ofc fairly bullet proof too but might not be feasible depending how long ur staying.

When we are in Portugal and there are mosquitoes around we use limonella/citronella candles that come in bowls around and on the table when eating/sitting outside. Inside we use plug-in mosquito killers. These are very effective, they come with refills and are switched on in the evening and off before bedtime.

I take a couple of “Jungle Formula” mosquito killers on our travels, one is on at night in the bedroom. You can buy these in Boots. If you do get bitten a lot I recommend Antisan cream for bite relief.

I went to cuba with my family and my gf of the time, both my mum and sister in law got bitten to pieces, think one of them totalled in at about 70 bites, the rest of us got away with a few, took me about a week before I got bitten, just sprayed on some repellant in the evenings and at night, job done, smelt a bit and made us sneeze while it was in the air though lol
