I have had two crackers in the last week...

Just had a micro SD card delivered in a box which measures 8"/5"/4"

Don't want to break rules by showing photos...

Anyone else getting stuff delivered in boxes which are far larger than the item they have in them?

All the time. Amazon love to pack tiny non breakable items in a box 50 times the size needed and with 3 trees worth of packing paper.

I will risk it for a biscuit...

competitor?

I wish I had taken a photo of the box the umbrella cant in, it was at least 30 times the size of the umbrella.

Yeah, it's a slow Wednesday, seeing as it is after Prime day it should produce some wins :P

I work for yodel, can confirm Amazon do this ALL THE TIME. I've also seen axes with no protection just put in a plastic bag.

I got three 120mm fans delivered in a box 24" x 18" x 10" last week,

It had 10 times the packing than the products. I assume sometimes the etailer has run out of the right size boxes so send it out in anything just to get it shipped.

Worst one ever though was HP several years ago..

I ordered 32 user software licences which if you have ever ordered them, they come as a thin cupboard envolope which you tear up with a card with the licence number inside.

Que the delivery driver in reception next day. Says he has a delivery for me, where do I want them.

I look at him puzzled, how do you mean? 'll show you. He had a full pallet for me! 32 x 2 foot by 1 foot x 6 inch boxes!!!!!!!!!

Each one had the A5 licence stuck down to the bottom of the empty box.

Crazy.

I seem to remember a story years back of HP sending some IT admin 5 packets of screws for a server cabinet and it came on a pallet! in boxes for each set :p

http://gizmodo.com/5343411/hp-ships-power-cord-in-giant-box-with-attached-pallet was for a power cord for example :p

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/07/29/aboxalypse_now/ another example

Quote from the power chord page - "The only thing that came in this monstrous package is a simple power cord that HP inexplicably shipped in a box sturdy enough to ship the entire Canadian army."

Either you are making a joke by exaggerating that it could hold something that massive, or you are joking about how small Canada's army is.

I'm going to risk sounding stupid here, and assume you meant the second of those two.

So FYI: The Canadian army is actually one of the largest and most powerful in the world. I don't understand where this misconception comes from. As a Canadian living in America, and knowing someone in the Canadian Navy, it is always strange to hear these sort of jokes. They fall sort of flat if you know the truth. It's larger than America's. They just don't USE it. I wouldn't want to screw with Canada.

Anyway, if you didn't know, now you do. NOW YOU KNOW.

If you did know that and you were just using that as an exaggeration, I apologize for my lack of joke interpretation abilities."

a little touchy!

Did you hear about the war between Canada and the USA? Canada were throwing hand grenades. Ths USA were pulling out the pins and throwing them back
