Most Bargaintastic Part You've Bought

Hi there

Does this count as a bargain:-

Brembo 4 Piston Calipers
Brembo 14" Front rotors
High Performance front pads

(Brake kit from Shelby GT500)

Purchased from the US for $675, only thing that detracts from it been a truly great bargain is the fact that shipping was nearly $400.

Still with shipping the entire kit was less than £600 delivered, similar kits over here seem to cost well over £1500-£2000 in this country.

If you look at the pics of my bike in the "Who drives what?" or the "Show us your motors" threads, you will notice its fitted with a standard Aprilia late 2003 model exhaust can, a sort of "bronze" finished one.

@£900 to purchase from a dealer.

Got it for £25 on fleabay inc delivery. It was removed from the owners bike when new as he had a twin Akrapovic set up ready to go on when he bought the bike as brand new.

It still had the clear "shrink wrap" on it for protection during the shipping of the bike in the crate, so it hadn't even been run.

Thats a bargain in my book.

Also, not really a "part" as such, but motoring related:-

Set of Dainese "K" 1 piece race leathers. Used half a dozen times, again, snaffled on fleabay.

New-£1200.

Grabbed 'em for £120. Result!!!.

I got a touch up pen from Honda for a fiver, which for a Honda and two tone paint I thought was a bargain.

I also got a replacement chocolate foglight for £15 - only available as a pair from Honda for £80-90

Been given quite a lot of stuff for free including tuning goodies, plus tend to swap a lot of stuff as well.

Picked up a set of 70's slotmag wheels for £20, had no idea how rare or sopughtafter that model was and sold 2 of them on for peanuts so someone else got a bargain as well.

Complete flipfront for my Anglia was £35. Bit rough but it fixed up nicely:

Full set of really good condition door cards and handles for the above, bit mouldy when they turned up but cleaned up nicely, £10:

Also picked up a set of 5 matching Lotus 5.5J wheels for £40 which would be worth £££mega if I still had them.

Turbo? I saw one on my street the other day... which model exactly is so rare?

Beautiful btw! :D

All of them are pretty rare. Mine's a black 3 door, which 1100 ish imported, but they screwed up the rust prevention and they dissolved. 5 door ones are silly rare as same problem but only 101 imported. 2 door red are the most common, probably about 100 on the road. Black 2 door pretty rare too.

THanks btw :) Mine's off the road cos I killed the clutch and decided might as well do the whole engine while I was at it and now winter is here no time :(
