Most Demanding PC game atm?

I have Deus Ex Mankind Divided on Steam, still not played it, may give it a try this afternoon. The Witcher 3 looks insane to run, I have it on PS4 but would like to test it on on my PC at some point.

I remember back in the day GTA IV & Crysis were really hard to run on my old machine.

W3 & Deus Ex are completely different ball games sadly.

W3 i can actually run at 6880x2880 at max settings bar hairworks and aa and get 50-70fps. Deus Ex i can't play with the same rig @3440x1440 almost max settings. It's just completely unplayable frame dropping all the time and that should not be the case on £1300 of gpu power. Just a poorly optimised game so is demanding in the sense that the devs could not be bothered to make it playable.

The bright side though is that the game still looks stunning at high settings which should be playable. I got 50+ FPS average at 3440x1440 with my Fury X - I start with the high preset default and then tweak a few up, turn off motion blur, etc.

Sadly not for me, Even at medium settings the frame drops make the game completely unplayable. I tried running a single 1080ti instead to make sure it wasn't sli causing it and it's even worse then. I think i will be uninstalling it to be honest.

I can play Battlefield 1, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, The Division and Dark Souls 3 all at 4k60 with high (not ultra) settings, but Playerunknown Battlegrounds runs like ass at mere 1920x1080 resolution. I'm not sure if it should count since it's just down to bad optimization more than anything else.

The Witcher 3 with everything maxxed and hairworks turned on,
Wildlands again with everything turned up.

Depends on the resolution also, I run games at 3440x1440 and that requires some power to get most modern games at a good fps with settings turned up.
The witcher 3 isn't really demanding. It's just hairworks. I run witcher 3 on Ultra everything maxed out (no hairworks) and my RX480 keeps me above 60FPS most times.
Equally Ultra grass in GTAV is a pretty brutal setting.

yes it runs well but its not even close to a high end game graphics wise.thats why it runs well.
I agree, if you go close to walls etc the texture pixilation is really noticeable. But somehow "playing the game" they aren't. It's a really nice balance they have done on making it look good/great but not being demanding. I suppose not having to deal with distance/grass/hair helps a lot. So happy they got DOOM right - in all aspects. Can't wait for "DOOM 2" if you will.

Just re-downloaded crysis 3 yesterday ... Still a demanding game at 1440p all maxed my 1080 keeps it well above 60fps .. and it's still gorgeous even by today's standards , not seen that cotw game but other then that and star citizen I think crysis still is the best looking game

Doom was okay got bored of it too quickly sadly.never to be finished.i actually preferred doom 3 . thing is we seen it all before.
I just found it very satisfying to play. I can understand compared to modern/complex games how it could be boring. It's a mindless shooter, brain doesn't need engaged. But still very satisfying to play. Just "feels" right, nice speed.
I was kinda on the fence at first but once I got to the Hell levels I enjoyed it much more. Really felt like DOOM. AI was not the most advanced. But felt like the level of intelligence suited daemons. So happy infighting was still a thing. Saved my neck a few times. Anyway, I'm going off topic as this is a graphics thread.

Doom looks fantastic.

Well done to bethesada for releasing a game that runs so well.

And lol at the posts about a 1080 being "only" a 1920x1080/60 GPU..... Don't base this on poorly optimised games/settings, blame the developers....

What about Watchdogs 2?

I haven't got it but I've seen videos with either the 1008 or 1080ti (I forget which) was unable to hit 1080p/60

Same here, I've also got Witcher 3 and a few others on PC that I haven't played yet as I'm waiting for Vega before I do, I moved up to 3440x1440 a while back and want a card to max them out with decent frame rates.

I booted Witcher 3 up but even with several settings drops my Fury Pro was only managing mid thirties and I want more than that so it feels fluid.

Yet another broken graphic setting(s) in that game i.e. TAA, little difference in IQ but huge impact on FPS

In game with lesser hardware, the difference in performance is even higher.

Witcher 3 runs great, just turn down/off the hairworks.

It's not it's based on an amazing looking game (far exceeding Doom) that isn't poorly optimised at all. A 1080 ti would just hold minimums at 60 at 1440p and I mean just.

That is just 1 game though... every game I have played so far apart from that run at 60fps minimum easily in 1440p ... I have only heard good things about this game though the screenshots look amazing !

Yup it's only one game, just happens to be my fave at the moment! It's probably ahead of its time like crysis was.
