I'm torn between two games really.
Red Faction: Guerrilla
Still annoyed that I paid a good £45 for the game, when it dropped significantly a few weeks later. The demo I enjoyed, but the main game just got boring so quickly. What they have done with the damage physics for destroying buildings was great, but it felt too much of a gimmick, like that was all there was too the game.
Not to mention the actual combat wasn't that well executed and it's a sandbox game that all looks the same, and all you do seems to be the same. I'm not sure I'll ever bother to finish it.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
I sat on the fence with this one, and when the bad reviews came in, I decided to rent it. Oddly enough, I've had it for a couple of months now (Love Film) and should really have returned it, because I doubt I'm going to bother with it again.
It promised a lot from the trailers and dev diaries, but in the end turned out to be terrible.
I encountered a bug that left me stuck on the first level of the game until I blew myself up. The squad AI is often terrible, they can be stood right next to an enemy and will do nothing. It's not always easy to tell who is an enemy and your team, as they look so similar.
Massive let down.
I think Flashpoint takes it.
