This relates to drinks that are expensive for what they are. Buying a bottle of Krug would not necessarily count because it's going to be naturally expensive. This is about normal stuff which seems overpriced.

I was just charged £4.50 for a pint of Peroni in The Compass in Rotherhithe. OK, it's a nice pub but I'm off to The Clipper down the road. Sod this.

about 6£ for various cocktails, spent far too much that night and was talking to a 40+ lady whose daughter worked behind the bar :s

£5 for a vodka redbull

I remember jokingly saying to the barmaid I ordered a single not a tripple, didn't even raise a smirk the miserable git

£14 for a single JD & Coke in Clapham. Bar was owned by the bint from men behaving badly... I behaved badly after that first drink and pee'd all around the toilet in the gents to get some recompense

4.50 on a bottle of Bulmers on my first time in Sinners, Newcastle. That was a bad decision and has never happened again when trebles are 3 quid :o

£6.50 for a can of Red Stripe. Bagleys Night Club, in 1998. £7.50 for a single VRB. Also at Bagleys on the same night. Those were the only two drinks on offer, besides tap water.

Other than that, probably some other club for similar prices.

In London - something like £50 for a poncy cocktail when my mate passed the drinks menu to two Swedish girls we were chatting to, offered them a drink and then reminded me it was my round... One of them ordered a vodka lemon and lime or something but the one I was chatting to decided to go for a cocktail.

Still it was a successful evening so not too bad :D
