On my 32" AOC 1440P monitor, I notice the graphics quality is no where near as good as my laptop display OR my 4K NU7400 Samsung or 4K MU6400.

The display just seems muddy, maybe blurry, it's definitely in focus it doesn't seem to look wrong on the desktop.

Battlefield 5 looks horrendous on it all maxed, that new map in an italian village the ground looks like something from the year 2005.

Is it something with the actual hardware of the monitor or could it be software setting?

Check software first. Native resolution, reset all to default if you have to.

PS - Read the title and instantly expected it to be a WW2 based game because the colour palette is brown, green and brown/green.

Most games look downgraded graphics then I move to my TV and am like wow niceeeeeee.

Maybe it's the PPI for a 1440p 32?

Could just be the PPI like you said, which probably seems exaggerated after looking at a 4K TV or smaller laptop screen. Do all games look muddy? And is it always muddy or just in motion?

Its a reality of large size screen low res and low refresh. Personally i do not understand how people do it 1440p is the worst resolution ever and people will ask for it in 27inch form in spec me threads.

Well this is the reality of 1440p, Low ppi muddy graphics and quite blurry and there is nothing you can do to improve it because MSAA died, And Supersampling adds minute blur. So you make it look worse. 4k 120hz+ or nothing and no more than 27inch and you will require ULMB or ELMB.

Also have the same after recommended by JediFragger and once I altered the colour settings to ones recommended in the forum it brought it to life. I came from a PG279Q ! The extra screen size makes it for me. Although is the OP's the D8 or just the VWF as the D8 is slightly better.

Mine is just VWF.

I've set it to 10bpc and 444 but the output dynamic range is only allowing me "limited"

What other settings are you all using for this monitor?

Unsure man, don't currently have a nVidia card to test. But it *might* be the source of your problem with the panel, or at least partially.

Yours is the VA too right? The D8 has an IPS screen and is supposedly a superior panel hence it being able to hit 444 Full maybe.

Definitely try to get Full RGB to work, and also look at using GPU Scaling in NVCP. I was on 1440p 32'' (BenQ 3200PT) before going to 55'' 4K TV and I can tell you it's not the PPI; besides, 32'' 1440p is >11 PPI higher than 55'' 4k, which is a considerable difference. To me what you are describing is 100% a scaling issue, so also look at your monitor's settings (sharpness etc).

BF V looks like its got some faint sketching on edges and weird colours , makes it look lower resolution. It seems to be running at 1440p, what other scalingissus could it be?

Supersampling is the one that makes everything sharper by rendering the image at a much higher resolution than the one being displayed, it should not add blur. MSAA and FXAA are the ones that can add a bit of blur. I don't see what is wrong with 1440p at 27" its the perfect resolution with just the right amount of PPI for that size screen. Might be a tiny bit low at 32" though.

You can't compare PPI from a monitor to a TV because your viewing distance is going to be different, you can only really compare angular pixel density.

Do you think you could test in another game? I'm not certain if it is still the case, but Battlefield V has forced TAA that definitely will contribute to the blur (it was very noticeable when I played the beta).
