Which is generally regarded as the most power hungry game on the market these days for power consumption of a graphics card?

Not interested in Furmark or any other unrealistic test.

Interesting question. I suppose games that show low performance from a graphics card are probably the most likely candidates, but that depends on why the performance is low. Optimising the power usage might actually need somewhere inbetween that gets average performance. To what end?

A good start would be Metro 2033. It brings the GTX 570 I'm testing with here to it's knees when everything is cranked up.

FPS has a lot to do with it also, i was trying to push my system as high as i could in power consumption and the highest i have managed was just under 900w from the wall and that was running 3DMark11 on the P preset, the X preset which is far more demanding and i would have thought would use more actually used quite a lot less.

The Witcher 2 (with Ubersampling).

In terms of power consumption, out of all my games Rift (everything maxxed out @1920x1200) makes my pc pull the most power from the wall. On average it pulls 340-350w. Most other games are in the 240-280w range.

For me, it must be Due Sex... sorry Deus Ex - Human revolution.

I havent measured draw at the wall, but no other game ramps up the temp & fanspeed on my nVidia GTX 470. Its like running Furmark constantly - I feel the pain & suffering the card does thru when playing this game! Runs smooth as butter with all setings maxed, so the card doesnt appear to be pushed...

I know its a different card but my 6950 barely gets hotter than 50c with this game, I'll test power use later.
