Was taking some cash from the ATM this morning and somehow I managed to take only the card but not the cash!!! :(

1 minute down the road I realised my stupidity and ran back to the ATM, unsurprisingly the cash was taken...

30 quid!!! that's 12 pints gone!!!

Has anyone ever done anything more stupid than this that can perhaps make me feel ever so slightly better about myself? :p

LOL

I booked a week off work during the summer holidays and got up on a Thursday and out of habit got dressed and drove to college, only to realise my mistake when I found the car park practically abandoned. :(

I bought myself a large chocolate bar on the way home to make myself feel better.

I'm confused because you said the money was wasted yet you were planning on spending it on drink.

Sounds like it would have been wasted to me anyway ;)

isnt that REALLY hard to do ?

as in the card wont get released till you take the money out ?

or im now thinking its the other way round

I think its worse going to work when your meant to be on your holidays.......also worse when you dont go to work when your meant to have finished your holidays.

Never left money at a bank,it could have been taken back in. Did you check the account balance?

Well,i know that works if you leave the card aswell.....hmmm who knows what happens if you take the card and leave the money.

If there was nobody behind you at the ATM chances are the machine took it back when you didn't. I'd check my statements before assuming it had been stolen. If it has however, you're out of luck. Pure muppetry.

yes, the machine will take it back and recredit your account if it isn't taken n a short period of time

Oh I've done worse actually.

Sent a dirty text indented for my Missus to my Auntie by mistake.

It was basically along the lines of "I can't wait to do xxx to you, and make you scream like a xxx"

:(

Was on my headphone as well so didn't hear the machine beeping...

Yeah they should make it the other way round so you can't take out the card till the cash is taken...

No haven't check the account am too frightened to see the balance LOL.

I do pretty stupid things when I'm on auto pilot and not thinking what I'm doing. For example when I open food, sometimes I put the food in the bin and keep hold of the wrapping, and only realize a few moments later that I'm standing there like a numpty with just the wrapping

Unlucky,

A lady infront of me and my gf did this only it looked like she had drawn the full amount (£250-£300) juding by the wad i had in my hand. Luckily we spotted her in the bank que next to the cash point !! she was VERY confused as we ran towards her with the money...dont think it had hit her of what she had done. We then left and about 20 mins later she saw us in the shopping centre and thanked us.

You sure the ATM didn't take the money back in? You might be fortunate!

Hmmm. Stupid things...

Many.

When I was about 8, I tried to do the trick where you pierce a balloon with a needle and it stays inflated. I didn't know how it worked, so I tried blowing the balloon up with a needle in it when it didn't have air in. It got to about 10" in diameter, then exploded. The needle shot me in the stomach, and went in quite a way. That was pretty stupid.

Also, when I was 8, I was having a 'hold your breath/make yourself go as purple as possible' contest with my mate on the school playground. I always rocked at this, so I was not about to give up my crown as the schools purplest kid.

I strained and held my breath like never before. Then apparently, I passed out. My head donged on a cast iron drain cover, then before I knew it, I was in casualty, heavily concussed, and vomiting uncontrollably. To prevent the vomiting I was given an anal suppository by a female nurse ( :( ), which didn't work. I spent 3 days in hospital, and got given loads of gifts. My family still think it was because I didn't have any breakfast/it was a cold day and I didn't wear a coat to school.

Message of that story?

Hold your breath too long and you'll be anally violated by a nurse.

There's many, many more, but those always spring to mind.

The ATM will take the money back in after about 30secs or so if you havent taken it already, and that money will be taken into a retract box (so that the ATM will balance in the morning and show that the ATM is over to the person who checks it) - Next the owners of the ATM will balance the machine and find it 30 quid over, and then send that money off to the bank whose card it came from, and then your account will be credited 30 quid. Currently it will probably be debited 30.

Just checked the balance and no the 30 quid was not credited into my account... or does it take a day or two to process??

Bummer :(

Well it's only going to be 30 quid less than before, at the most, right?

Was just afraid to admit i actually gave away 30 quid i suppose :p
