Just interested in your opinions on this one.

Just listening to Queens - Barcelona and a thought struck me. As a singer does anyone else come near Freddie Mercury and on a larger picture Queen when it comes to crossing so many different styles of music succesfully?

Thoughts?

Hopefully the answers will give me new areas to look into music wise.

Seems that quite a few agree with me on the point of Freddie Mercury and Queen - it was actually listening to Barcelona that prompted this thread.

On the point of Robbie Williams - saw him at Glastonbury in 98 (might be 97 or 99) I think and he was one of the best acts that whole weekend. Reminds me of Freddies ability to get the crowd worked up.

One final point on Queen though - when looking at concert videos I cannot think of any other act who has the whole crowd involved quite so much. Yes a lot of bands get the first so many rows involved. But Queen had the stadium floor AND all the seating areas responding and getting involved.
