Afternoon Guys

I took a horrible 51 plate Laguna in part ex last week, so horrible that I'm sending it to the auction, I took this car in at the lowest price I could.

However when filling in auction paperwork I noticed that the MOT had expired on the 29th of Nov :( I thought it still had a few months left.

Anyway went for an MOT and has failed on CO levels being high, 0.2 being the limit for a pass and this car registered 0.5-0.6.

Any idea what causes the CO level to be too high, and how to reduce it?

I've checked the air filter, checked for leaks in the exhaust, any vacuum leaks but none... is the CAT buggered?

Thanks

The Lambda level was fine, just the carbon monoxide level was 0.4% too high.

Car has been thrashed!

no he means the lambda sensor, which controls fueling which would effect the CAT and how it removes CO from the exhaust emissions.
