Yes its got a cat deffo, been poking it about tonight, theres nothing in it. BUT i didnt do the exhaust, i hope its not a decat ffs..

Well i am wanting an APR exhaust but thats like nearly a grand

But if i get the APR exhaust and inlet, i should see close to 400. But i have been advised not todo that otherwise the engine will deffo go BOOM.

Boost wise, its not a lot really, its about 25 peak and 22psi hold. Which is not a lot really for the size of the turbo.,

Dont mate. Not even funny at the Moment.

Paid to have cambelt done, cv boot, service, failed mot on cat, number plates and brakes.

Went over to pick up cat. And missed a gear change. 3rd to 4th.

Had to have car towed over to garage. And I think I destroyed the engine.

It's cost £800 up until now. And well I dont know what todo

If missing a gear change killed it then surely your "overclock wasn't prime stable"

Well its revs to 6800 ish

Had the music banging away, though i was in 4th and i wernt

Looked down and it looked like 10,000 rpm

Find out this week, if its bad, i cant afford to fix it.

Right was cruising along

Coming up to gear change to go into 4th.

Acc down/Clutch down.

Put into fourth (thinking its in 4th)

But wasnt in gear, just in kinda neutral

Power down, car lurched forward as if i had put brakes on. looked down needle (revs) off the clock.

Was it a loud bang?
Was it idling rough afterwards?

If it was in neutral it would have just coasted and revved. Sounds like you found second!

Well it was if I did emergency stop. There was like real a really high pitched whine a bang. And oil from the bottom of engine. Put that down to a seal gone?

It doesnt start at all. Just span really fast for a few seconds then would attempt to turn over.

There wasn't a lot of oil. The chap who towed it. Tows clamped cars. As it's the only person I could think off

I've only ever mis-shifted the other way, go for second and found fourth!

Well unless you did get second, which even in a golf shouldn't be instantly fatal as long as your under 60mph. If you got neutral i'd have expected the rev limiter to save it?
If not, perhaps you learned two lessons today.
1. Don't play music louder than your engine.
2. Don't modify your car so it's at its mechanical limit.

Many years ago a friend had a corsa sport 1.6 and he dropped from 5th to 4th at about 110mph ish and it went bang in a big way dispite the fact 110mph in 4th wasn't at the rev limiter, i guess the shock or strain on the engine musta been the problem.

Edit - turning over quickly sounds like no compression. Not turning at all sounds like the valves and pistons have gotten together for a party.
