As expected, my GT failed it's MOT, with two split CV boots, leaking joint in the steering rack, worn rear pads and handbrake being crap on both the rear brakes.

Now the garage has said it's £40 per CV boot kit (+£170 labour for fitting it!!

), but i've been searching on ebay and found that it's only about £35 for a whole new CV JOINT. Now, would i be better getting two new CV joints or just getting a two boot kits (£7 each on ebay)? I'm pretty sure that both the CV Joints are worn anyway, so i could hit two birds with one stone.

Cheers

Whoa whoa whoa...... £40 for a CV boot and £170 labour!?!?

malc. CV boot kits are fine mate, not those crap things you glue together - they're rubbish - but a normal CV boot kit.

Yeh i know! I laughed on the phone when he told me...

I've got 7 days to get it re-MOTd so i was thinking of just buying two new CV joints (£35 each) and getting a garage to fit them (£100 ish i reckon?)

Just annoyed because it's going to be Wednesday (stupid bank holiday) before i recieve parts and then get someone to fit them and i've got to get home asap. Urgh what a headache.
