Do all the bulbs in the instrument cluster have to work to pass MOT?

The temperature one has blown in my set (happened when i changed the dash so guess i knocked it) you can still see the dial at night so its not a problem but is it needed?

Pretty sure they're not needed.

I believe as long as the speedo or rev counter are lit up you shouldn't have a problem.

I didn't think instruments were an MOT requirement, ie you don't need a speedo at all.

I thought you had to have some method of telling your speed hence a rev counter is acceptable. I only say this as my old man had a metro in which the speedo died and he got away with MOT's for a few years on the grounds of the rev counter.

I could have course be speaking utter tosh, just trying to be helpful.

EDIT: I take it all back a working and visable speedo is a legal requirment not an MOT one, if you can figure that out!
