Hi guys,

Book an mot for the mazda on thursday.

On coming home its DPF light decided to come on and start flashing at me ( on mazda this means it needs a service)

I wont be able to service it before the new year....

Is there any point putting it through a mot? or will it just fail on this bloody light?

That would just be an advisory, however if the oil level is too high which is what happens on mazda diesels then it *may* not make it through precheck, that would be a refusal to test rather then a failure though.

On the 2.2 models it also can mean the cam chain is beyond the 10.4 degrees limit. Thus needs an expensive service.

Or

The oil is too high due to diesel dilution. Again service time.

It only actually flashes when it needs attention. There is a resettable service counter the driver can change...
But if it's flashing there is a reason ;)

Yeah just found out that it needs a service, service interval changes after 75k from every 15k to every 12.5k

Timing chain was done on the very expensive 75k service.

Car is booked in for Thursday so hopefully all will be well.
