Just gone to sorn my motorbike but won't let me as it has tax until November, however the mot has ran out. As long as I don't take it out the garage I take it I don't break any laws? Just don't want to end up with a fine. It is insured as well.

You'd probably have to cash the remaining road duty in I guess, maybe not worth the effort if it's only pocket change, maybe just a sorn it when the road duty expires but i guess a lot depends on how long you forsee it being off the road for.

It's perfectly legal to keep it in your garage with no MOT. Just make sure you SORN it when the reminder comes through.

Leave it in the garage.

IN order to get it re-MOT'd (if you want to ride it again) you need to have a pre-arranged MOT booking at a local MOT centre. It is perfectly legal to ride your bike to and from a pre-arranged MOT appointment without a valid MOT.

Should you get stopped, you may have to prove this booking. The MOT centre can help with this
