My little bit of cheap flimsy metal that cover the ports on the back of the case had little tabs on it for grounding. Im using an Eclipse 62 case, and must say the backplate dont fit that well, the ports arnt flush to it.
Anyway it seems that all the little tabs that ground the USB ports have broken off ( i found them on the table :() Is this a big deal? I assuming the tabs ground the backplate and the ports are grounded via mobo. Some tabs ARE touching the io ports, im guessing this will ground the entire thing.
DO they all need to be grounded? I dont want to risk the system for a cheap piece of metal, but the seem impossible to find with the right holes.

Thanks!

Noob system builder.

Nah, I wouldn't worry. My Home Server has been running for months without a backplate anyway (B-Grade mobo). They just tidy it up.

You may need to REALLY force it in.

No, it's best practise, but not a requirement. The first thing that might play up is a PS/2 keyboard, but I've never experienced it.

i did dorce it in, i mean the usb stuff dont fit flush, cause of were the mobo sits on the holes. Thanks for the help :D

Then something is very, very wrong. I saw your other thread about standoffs and I do wonder if everything is just as it should be?

Well the mobo is mounted on the only holes it can be, And the tray is flush into the case. I did find a screw to attach the Tray onto is slider which has helped a little bit.

The PS/2 ports have about a 2mm Gap between the back plate and the ports, the USB ports seem ok now.
