ok this is maybe a bit of an odd question...

but what's the best way for a single mum to 'socialise'? are there websites out there for mother and toddler groups etc? i've had a look on google but they only bring up the fact there are some - not where they are or how to get in touch.

Can you ask the health visitor?
Or the local NCT (National Childbirth Trust) people.
Sometimes in the doctors surgery they have notices for coffee mornings, or go to the park and get chatting to other mums with their kids.

mmm I'm male - but I don't even like going to do's organised for partners as well with my wifes baby group

I guess I'm just non-competitive son wise ... I don't care who's out of nappies first

I just always get that "my baby is better than yours feeling" and it really annoys me

There are lots of websites out there netmums for starters.

Once you have found one they will tell you where all the events are.

cheers. :)

i don't know anything about it so i'm looking for someone who doesn't actually know i'm looking lol. i figure it might be nice for them to find likeminded people as i know having kids on your own all the time can be tough and stressful. :)

had a look at local churches and found lots of good activities!

even found one doing GKR karate which i've been looking for locally but never found!! :D everyone's a winner... :D

my missus heard about a mother and toddler group, went to it, and once there, the other mums told her of a few other groups. she tried one or two of them and the same thing happened again. within a couple of visits, she had found out the dates, times and locations of a dozen playgroups and within a few weeks had found 2 or 3 she really likes.
