Hi people,

I'm looking to buy a new motherboard, CPU cooler and SSD for a general upgrade to my system. My current motherboard is a B2 revision of the ASUS P8P67 LE and my Sata 3gig ports are officially busted. They killed my RAID 0 setup and my DVD RW doesn't like them either, has been like this for months now. I missed the return period despite it being 3 months long, HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT?! So that's my reason for replacing it and going for a Z68 board and I'd like to be able to hit 4.6Ghz without too much fiddling.

I want the SSD as a boot drive, so 64Gb works for me as I'll keep my 500Gb Seagate drives as storage. The CPU cooler should preferably come with pre-applied thermal paste as I'm special and probably will melt my CPU. I'm looking to spend an absolute maximum of £250 not inc delivery, as it is free for me thanks to the forum status.

Thanks for any comments and advice :)

Hi people,

The CPU cooler should preferably come with pre-applied thermal paste as I'm special and probably will melt my CPU.

Easy enough to do, see here.

http://www.arcticsilver.com/intel_application_method.html#

loads of youtube vids on how to apply thermal past onto a CPU.

but if you really want a cooler with the paste pre applied theres the artic cooling range. (freezer pro 7 or 13)

don't forget to clean the old paste off the CPU 1st though. use this stuff

Thanks Grimley, I'll keep that in mind if/when it comes to it. I've done some reading on the Gellid cooler that Incapable mentioned, people really rate it so I think I will get that one. I'll try and get it right first time! :S
