Hey

Im getting a C2D E6600 and some Corsair DDR2 Dominator C4 6400 2gb with a GeForce 8800 GTX and need a motherboard for this all to connect to, I will only be using a single GPU but the option of SLi is an added bonus, my budged on the board is really £150 roughly. Ive been recommended the Gigabyte DQ6 but 2 guys at uni but stll a bit unsure,

Any advice on which board would suit me best?

Mike

from what i gather (by reading peoples suggestions and results) on these boards. DS3 is best for the 6300. DS4 is better for the 6600. DQ6 i havent heard much of.

The general opinion here seems to be the DS3 or DS4 for E6300/6400 and P5B for E6600 upwards as it works better with the larger cache. The DS4 has better power regulation and SATA RAID than the DS3, the DQ6 is basically a DS4 with some extra CPU cooling that can get in the way if you use a screw-down heatsink and e-SATA (I think).

DS3 and DS4 are basically the same, DS4 has a better southbridge, and better chipset cooling, but is more expensive. P5B is also good, all of them clock well with all the C2Ds.
