Motherboard and CPU + other problems

Does this board Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard support this chip AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.40GHz (Socket AM2) - OEM

hmm thats not that problem then, I have just built the below spec and for some reason when i turn it on i dont get anything on the screen also when the dvd drive is plugged in via IDE it does not work but when there is just power to it it works!!

Strange one, few things to check whether you have done these or not .
Are all power connectors installed including the 4 pin for cpu power, try each memory module individualy to check if you have a faulty stick and try a CMOS reset.
