Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone could advise me on a motherboard and processor combo for around £200.

Computer needs upgrading, most of it is ok except the outdated motherboard and processor.

Current specs:

AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core processor 1.80 GHz
Nvidia 9800gt graphics card
Cooler Master GX 550W power supply
4GB ram

Using it for mostly office and a bit of photoshop however I still want it to be able to play Battlefield 4 when I want to so not expecting it to be amazing but enough for me to run the game without too many problems.

I was looking into this combo:

Motherboard - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-502-AS

Processor - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-336-AM

What do you guys think? I'm also looking to upgrade to around 8GB of ram.

Would these be ok to install with my current system?

Cheers

Hi and welcome

The 8320 is the better buy, almost the same processor. And the motherboard is a good choice that will definitely support that cpu :D

Hi thank you for a speedy reply!

Think I may go for this combo as the reviews seem promising and it's not going to break the bank!

I'm very new to building computers so this might be a stupid question...

Which ram would you recommend for this motherboard?

Cheers

Not stupid at all.

If you're planning on overclocking get any 2133mhz ram you like really, if not pick any 1866mhz stuff. Just be careful with the ram modules sporting high profile cooling solutions as they may not go under any third party cooler you get (and you will want to get one as the OEM coolers with the 83xx series processors are both loud and rubbish)

Thanks for replying guys very helpful have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

Edit: Just a quick one....do I really need a cooler? Only thing is if it doesn't fit inside my current case it means by another which pushes up my budget.

Just a standard one you get with most normal office desktops in currys or Pc world. Roughly 45cm tall by 55cm long and 20cm wide - these are very rough measurements as I dont have a ruler with me lol
