Motherboard bundle advice

Hi there, new member here :)

I am looking to upgrade my build with a bundle, price range £300-£400, although I don't mind going a little over £400 if it means I get a better deal.

I have a GTX770 which I bought back in June and my current mobo and CPU are on the crappy side so I think it's time for an upgrade.

My current CPU is an Intel Core Quad Q8400 2.66GHz and my mobo is a Gigabyte G41M-ES2L (please don’t laugh) lolz

I think they are causing a bottlenecking on my system and I am looking for some replacements to bring me up to date.

I used to game on my PS3 but have recently switched back to PC gaming as I won’t be adopting the new (unimpressive) consoles.

I was looking at these bundles as possibilities:

I have a Zalman Z11 Plus case with three intake fans and three exhaust fans so I think the temps should be okay.

I opted for red LED fans with my case as I preferd it over blue.

My PSU is a CX 600. Can I get away with that for now or will I need something with more power?

I also have 4GB of RAM so I think I need some more there too which is why I was looking at the bundles as I can just get everything in one go.

I am just wondering if anyone has any better suggestions or advice they could give on the possible choices available. Would I see a vast improvement if I were to choose one of the bundles I posted above?

Be a great help if you could…was thinking of getting all this as a nice xmas present to myself lolz

Thanks in advance.

Have some savings :)

Exactly the same spec as the Quasar 240i bundle (the motherboard comes with the CPU cooler bundled), but it comes in £74 cheaper and will be dispatched sooner (as the 5 - 7 day build time wont apply)

The only difference is that you'll have to put it together and apply an overclock. (4.3GHz as-per the bundle shouldn't be too hard to achieve, especially with the forums behind you. :))

You will see a difference yes, quite a sizeable one I would imagine. A Core 2 Quad will be bottlenecking that GTX770 of yours. You wouldnt be able to re-use your RAM though (just in case that was your plan) as it is DDR2 not DDR3. Spec wise the rest of your system seems fine for accepting the upgrade. :)

This is the same again but with different RAM (slightly better RAM in-fact in terms of spec) and it comes in a-bit cheaper still.

Wow that's great thanks. Really chuffed that will work out cheaper for me.

Will the overclocking be easy enough? Install some software and move a few sliders or do I have to mess with the bios?

Thanks
