sure others will highlight Intel build which will get you max FPS at 1080p which is more CPU limiting :)
 
Jack of all trades for usage. Gaming ability would be good , i'm not a serious gamer.
Something in between those two would be excellent.
 
Here's a very similar build to @orbitalwalsh with cheaper RAM (to bring you under £500)

You won't be able to run the RAM at 4000mhz, but will be able to at 3200-3600mhz with lower timings (which Ryzen greatly benefits from). In the end, either set should perform very similarly.
