Well just replaced my motherboard but now I have a issue with my speakers the motherboard is the only item I changed so i'm assuming that is causing the issue.

One thing ive noticed is when I move the front panel HD cable around the noise volume of the buzzing will increase and decrease, I have tried removing the cable altogether and it still made the noise.

What other things could be causing this issue and should I RMA the board or try a Soundcard?

Speakers are plugged in correctly, Drivers are the most up to date.

I think that im getting interference off the other components which i didnt before, or possibly even some issue with the mosfets or capacitors on the board, looks like another day of trouble shooting tomorrow. I hope it isnt a case of a mobo RMA ill be lost with out my pc. :-P

turn off intel speedstep and see if noise stops, although it didnt make the noise before, the mb and current psu combination is causing the noise,as its generally psu or your gpu that causes the noise, its emi leakage from psu, some are better sheilded against it than others

I think its the GPU causing the issue it gets a lot more prominent when I load a game.

Basically now it only makes noticeable noise when Im moving my mouse or have a game running.

For example im watching a film atm with it and there is no noticeable sound leakage.

Just a bit weird it never occurred on my other board, also yeah I changed the CPU but i assumed this wouldn't cause any issues so Ill try disabling the speed stepping when i do a big trouble shooting mission tomorrow.

Anymore suggestion of what I can try are appreciated

My old pc used to make a noise when i moved the cursor but it came from the internals :/ my macbook pro does the same thing!
and my new asus motherboard just makes a 'PC' noise through the sound output.

is it sort of like screeching and suchlike?

i think its because your new board has digital power saving modes, sound can appear like its coming from gpu and its normal even i get slight squeal but i cant hear anything noise or buzz through my speakers or headphones,if your hearing it through speakers/headphones then somethings wrong

ive helped a few others on another forum and its always turned out to be psu as the cause,

I had this on my ASUS Rampage motherboard , it had an audio header which was too close to the GPU. :(

Put your GPU under stress and see if the noise changes pitch ;)

Simple soloution i used was to laminate a pice of tinfoil the right size to cover the audio header and stick it inbetween the audio header and the Graphics card....

It worked...But:p

Later i bought a sound card and fitted it in the bottom pci slot anyway;)

would a dedicated sound card not solve this? cheaper then throwing 70 quid at a psu when my hx620 isnt all that old. I could pick up a xonar dg for like 20 ish

Just ran a game and couldnt hear the game sound as the buzzing noise was drowning it out.

im only going off what ive tried and i tried a xonar dx and still i could hear the noise,so i dont know what to say

you could try emailing corsair and tell them, maybe they will rma your psu for another unit?

ill try and raise a RMA on the psu but since i aint got a clue what ive done with the receipt its unlikely they will accept it, but wont know till i try i suppose.

Well Corsair didnt ask for anything tbh and approved my RMA so time to send it back and dig out the laptop for a few weeks it seems.

On the plus side my PSU was discontinued I believe so might get a free upgrade :-)

Also do I just send the unit itself or all the wires and everything.

Bumping an old thread. I have this same problem on an Asus P5Q3. Tried disabling speedstep, turning off smooth mouse scrolling as advised by others via google search, installing latest realtek drivers, disabling everything except speaker device, disabling PC beep, disabling and muting mics and AMD HD audio driver device and everything else, trying front case ports instead of mobo rear I/O ports. Still buzzes. Only the speakers buzz. If I try headphones via the same speakers via the speakers headphone output port, they work without buzz. But the speakers only have this problem with this mobo as my previous build with different mobo did not have this issue.

So it's the combination of this mobo and/or PSU and my Logitech speakers.

Annoying.

I might try a sound card for cheap...
