i really like the look of the P67 MSI boards but can you guys help me out: what is the difference between the GD45 and the GD53? other than the firewire ports. do they perform the same and have the same layout?

I assume you mean the G45 and GD53.

The G45 has a firewire connector, the GD53 doesn't.

The G45 has a motherboard header for 2 USB 3.0 ports and the GD53 doesn't.

The GD53 has OC Genie II (one button overclocking) and the G45 doesn't.

The GD53 uses higher quality Hi-c CAPs (capacitors).

The GD53 officially supports SLI, the G45 supports SLI unofficially.

The GD53 has USB Super Charger, the G45 doesn't.
