Probably a stupid question, it's regarding the 15pin port on the Abit KN8 ultra and it's back panel 15 pin port.

I needed a serial port for my trusty old Wacom digitizer, and read that the above motherboard had a serial port called "Serial (RS232) Port" but on the homepage of Abit it's called a com port - are those the same?

My Wacom doesn't work so I am sure it might not be the same, but would love a definitive answer :)

The plug match and all, but no signal whatsoever.

Thanks Werewolf, while you were replying I was into the bios, and indeed a serial port was mentioned - it was assigned to an irq, I tried setting it to auto instead but no luck.

But I am happy to know that it is indeed a normal serial port.

Now I just need to make it work - normally it is working out of the box, but perhaps there is some new settings I am not used to.

I'll let you know if I figure it out!

- Thanks again.

Pheew got it sorted :)
Aparently the first set of drivers was not working, so I uninstalled and installed another version - and now it works!
Thanks..
