-MOTHERBOARD COMPATIBILITY URGENT-

Hi I recently took apart my PC and want to upgrade the CPU to an intel i5. I am having trouble with compatibility checks.

The model of the mother board is an FNX1 E93839 from an HP Compaq.

All advice and help will be much appreciated.

What is the current CPU ypu have and what is it your using the PC for?

I have an intel core 2 duo in it at the moment it is an HP compaq elite 8200

It's going to be a Sandy bridge CPU in that board, on 1155. I'd hesitate in upgrading, it simply isn't worth it unless you can find a very cheap i7-2600 (check BIOS for compatibility first)

How do I check the BIOS compatibility?
