Motherboard/CPU question

You only got the cpu because you ordered the oem version, as for installing it, it installs like any other cpu (on an 1155 board), youtube it if you're really unsure.

As you purchased an oem cpu, this is why it comes as just the chip in the box. Unlike a retail version that comes supplied with an intel stock cooler. Once your mobo arrives it will just slot into it. Im assuming you have/will be buying an aftermarket cpu cooler?

New CPUs don't have pins, now the pins are on the motherboard.
The motherboard has a sort of cage that holds the chip in place.

You purchased the OEM package of the CPU, so you don't get a heatsink/fan.

You will need to supply your own heatsink.

Lift up the lever, pull up the plate, slot it in (you will feel when it goes in) then you push the plate over it and then pull down the lever.

As above, plus you only get a 1 year warranty (not a problem) as opposed to a 3 year warranty with a retail version - you'll also benefit from having a read through this guide/thread - link
