Motherboard dead?

I took out my PSU, put it in a friend's PC to determine his had failed and when I put it back in mine I have no signal to the monitor and no BIOS bleeps.

I purchased a new PSU and exactly the same is happening.

I have a 9 year old Asus without onboard graphics. Would you say because I'm getting no BIOS my motherboard could be dead?

Thank you.

Tried clearing CMOS? New CMOS battery? Considering you took the PSU out it would get no power so if that battery is dead then you'd lose BIOS settings, which would mean needing to clear CMOS and the new battery.

Hi guys. Thanks for your replies. Those pins are definitely plugged in. I had the PSU out of the machine for about five hours. Even when I unplugged the hhd and CPU power cables and turn the PC on I still get no BIOS beeps.

At 9 years old I'm likely to consider the capacitors on the motherboard - can you check for leakage or signs of bulging?

If the capacitors are failing/have failed then the computer will not power up enough to reach the BIOS bleep.

I've had a good look over the board and I can't see anything obvious.
I did remove the memory from it, fired it up and it bleeped at me.

Sorry guys. I was ment to reply to you all and say it was a faulty stick of ram that was causing the problem.
I still don't understand why 1, the computer wouldn't boot on three sticks and 2, why didn't it bleep at me because of the bad stick.

Thank you all for your input.
