Hi,

Think I have a dead motherboard in this computer I'm looking at.

PSU seems fine as when I plug my PSU Tester box into the PSU the PSU comes on and the cooler fans connected to it.

No signs of life from the motherboard however, have unplugged everything except the PSU and the Mobo/CPU.

Eliminated it being a case power button problem by using a screwdriver on the PWR pins to jump the mobo.

Nothing.

Dead mobo? A faulty CPU wouldn't stop the Mobo booting at all would it ?

Took bios battery out for minimum of 10 minutes?
My new x570 build went totally dead after working fine
Tried absolutely everything just about to Rma and decided to pull bios battery
Though did 30 minutes as 10 did not work
It sprung back to life been fine ever since

Out of interest, what motherboard is it?

I’ve had this issue with two Gigabyte Aorus motherboards in a month, and am trying to work out if Gigabyte boards are having an issue or if I have another component causing problems

Unless that tester costs like more than your PC, it's really doesn't tell much about PSU's condition.

Also my crystal ball is dead, so what parts that coffee maker has swallowed?

Mine is a gigabyte aorus ultra x570
Bit of a coincidence there
