Hello.

Mobo: GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3(rev. 1.3)
M/B Rev : 1.3
BIOS Ver : F9
RAM: 4x 2GB Kingston HyperX 1333MHz

I've recently purchased this motherboard for a custom build, however I am having trouble with the RAM.

I have 4x 2GB RAM Modules that I wanted to use with this motherboard, however, I can only use 2 modules and the dual channel doesn't work.

Let me try make this easier to understand.

Using all 4x2GB Modules (all slots have RAM)
- FAIL - The motherboard boot cycles and never reaches BIOS!

Using 2x2GB Modules (in dual channel (slot 1 & 2))
- FAIL - The motherboard boot cycles and never reaches BIOS!

Using 2x2GB Modules (NOT in dual channel (slot 1 & 3))
- WORKS - The motherboard boots perfectly.

I've tried different RAM slot configurations and nothing seems to work, there is no way I can use all 4 sticks of ram or even use 2 sticks in dual channel.

I know for a fact this RAM is perfectly fine, I've tested it in my old motherboard (Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H) and it's been working good for a few years.

I've attached an image that I made to make it easier to understand my problem.

Well if the RAM is definitely okay, then it must be the motherboard.

Have you tried one stick of RAM in one slot at a time? Seems to me like one slot is faulty perhaps.

Yeah - there is 1 bent cpu pin on the mobo.

It's ****ing tiny, do you guys know any tricks for sorting it or should I RMA?
and will I have any problems with RMA?

How old is it? Did you get it from Overclockers? If so I suggest you ring them or post in the customer services section.

I've heard several [not so good] stories about problems with bent pins but I've also heard Gigabyte's RMA service is very good so hopefully it'll be okay.
