Hey guys,
I have a Silverstone Fortress case that has 3 case fans, 120mm and twin 180mm fans. A few weeks ago my front 180mm fan stopped working correctly, it still span but instead of spinning at 700rpm it was sitting between 200-300.
I ordered a replacement from OCUK and popped it in and the same problem.
Ok so if i plug the new fan (or old) into another fan socket on my motherboard (gigabyte skt1366 UD5) they work perfectly well.
If i plug a smaller fan like my noctua 120mm into the "broken" socket it will work.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? The fan was plugged into that socket for 4 years and always worked fine. Now it seems to be putting out less voltage for some reason.
